Made of Japan! Since 1949, Onitsuka Tiger has created stylish sports products inspired by the Japanese values of craftsmanship and attention to detail. The founder, Mr. Kihachiro Onitsuka, knew that if he perfected the basketball shoe - the most technically difficult to make - then anything was possible. Onitsuka Tiger went on to perfect many more types of sports shoes and has come to epitomise the style and attention to detail of Japanese design. For the anoraks - albeit very stylish ones - out there, a little known fact; in the 1960s, a small former American agency of Onitsuka, run by a man named Phil Knight, began selling the CORTEZ shoe, which was based on the Tiger CORSAIR. Knight named his outlet NIKE.
